Built for the UK’s Royal Air Force (RAF) and first flown in 2001, AW101 ZJ128 was one of 22 helicopters in the RAF’s Merlin fleet that were subsequently transferred to the Royal Navy’s Commando Helicopter Force in 2012.

As part of this transfer, ZJ128 was upgraded to the HC.4 standard to allow it to undertake shipborne operations.

What once graced the skies can now grace your luggage, laptop bag, backpack or keys.

The material used for this tag was obtained during this upgrade activity and AW101 ZJ128 remains an active part of the Royal Navy’s Helicopter Fleet.

The material used in your tag is part of the airframe of this aircraft and is still covered in the original paintwork. Whilst it will age and change with use, this is evidence of your own part in this aviation icon’s journey.
