The Biography of the Metal ZG750 occupies a unique position in the heart of the RAF community. Though famously finished in the "Desert Pink" commemorative livery to mark the 25th anniversary of Operation Granby, this airframe’s true legacy was forged in the skies over the United Kingdom. Serving extensively with 15(R) Squadron, the Tornado Operational Conversion Unit, ZG750 was the classroom for countless pilots and Weapon Systems Officers. While she did not deploy to the Middle East herself, she was the vital crucible in which the skills of the crews who did were refined. Reclaimed directly from this celebrated airframe, the aluminium in this model carries the DNA of the RAF’s "Tonka" heritage.

When we set out to create the ZG750 mini model, we wanted to capture the "Pinky" spirit—a tribute to those who served in the sand and heat—whilst honouring the specific metal that spent its life preparing crews for the rigours of flight. It feels cold, dense and purposeful in the hand. We have hand-finished each piece to ensure that the sweeping lines of the Tornado remain sharp, serving as a tactile reminder of the engineering excellence that defined the Cold War and beyond.
