The Biography of the Metal Concorde 101, registered as G-AXDN, was the British pre-production airframe that served as the primary testbed for the legendary airliner's most critical systems. This specific airframe played a pivotal role in the flight test programme, proving the viability of sustained Mach 2 flight and testing the revolutionary digital air intake controls. She remains the fastest of all Concordes, having reached a record speed of Mach 2.23 in 1974, which is approximately 1,450 miles per hour. The metal within this model was recovered from her genuine air intake assembly, preserving the physical lineage of a machine that once crossed the Atlantic in under three hours.
